Fixed Time N management |
In fixed time N management strategy, N fertilizers are applied at certain fixed stages
of cassava cultivation. Following the blanket recommendation of Nair et al.
(2004), fixed time N management recommends to broadcast half the dose of N
fertilizer at the time of final land preparation and the remaining quantity need
to be applied in short bands around each plant 45-60 days after planting. The
main disadvantage of fixed time N management is that the time of N application
is not based on the real time of crop need for nitrogen which can vary from
field to field. |
