Site Specific Nutrient Management (SSNM) technology has been developed for cassava by conducting on farm experiments in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra for the past 9 years
Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI)
,
only one of its kind in the world conducting research exclusively on all the tropical tuber crops, was established under ICAR in July 1963 with its Head quarters at Sreekariyam, Thiruvananthapuram. The regional centre of CTCRI established in 1976 at Bhubaneswar in Orissa.
Vision
Produce tuber, reduce hunger and improve liveli hood of the poor.
Mission
T
o ma
ke tropical root and tuber crops as part of food and nutritional security for ever growing food-insecure population by increasing productivity and securing income, health and sustainability.
AICRPTC
The All India Coordinated Research Project on Tuber Crops (AICRPTC) operates from this Institute was established in 1968 and is having 15 centres now spread throughout the tuber crop growing areas of India. The Institute is also one of the centres of All India coordinated research Project on Harvest and Post Harvest Technologies.
CASSNUM helps cassava farmers identify their field problems as well as determine field specific fertilizer recommendations for specific yield targets
