Physical modification by Microwave Irradiation of Tuber Starches


To a weighed quantity of the starch taken in a container, distilled water is added and mixes uniformly to obtain the required moisture level.The container is then sealed and kept inside a microwave oven and irradiate for the required duration of time by stirring the sample after every two minutes. After treatment, the samples are cooled to ambient temperature and dried at 55°C in an air oven to a uniform moisture content of 6-8%.
